1. Materials you may use
Use your original notes, properly licensed/open educational resources, or materials you have permission or another lawful basis to upload and process. Respect the scope of that permission, including limits on external storage, copying, recordings and AI processing. Citation identifies a source but does not itself authorize copying. Do not upload protected exam banks, confidential exam questions or patient-identifying information.
2. How StudyTriage handles content
Uploaded materials are restricted to your account by access controls, stored on our hosted service and may be accessed by authorized operators when necessary. We do not offer a public course-material marketplace or general sharing feed. Selected text can be sent to OpenAI for requested AI actions as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim licenses from every school or publisher, or that every private educational use is automatically permitted.
3. Canvas and recordings
Follow your school's integration policies and Instructure's terms when connecting Canvas. Permission to retrieve assignments does not automatically authorize uploading slides or sending their contents to AI. Obtain all required consent before recording lectures or other people; some institutions and jurisdictions prohibit recording or require everyone recorded to consent.
4. Report a copyright or content concern
Rights holders or authorized representatives can email hello@studytriage.app with:
- Your name, contact information and authority to act.
- The original work and the rights involved.
- A description of the material in StudyTriage and enough information to locate it, such as a resource/notebook name, relevant account reference or screenshot. Do not send account passwords or patient information.
- Why you believe the use is unauthorized, and a good-faith statement that the report is accurate.
This is our operational reporting contact; it is not a representation that we have registered a statutory designated agent or obtained a legal safe harbor.
5. Handling reports
We will review reports, seek clarification where needed, and may restrict access, remove material or suspend accounts where appropriate. Where lawful, we may notify the affected user and request evidence of permission; relevant report details may be shared to resolve the issue. Repeated or serious violations may lead to termination. Disputes about ownership or permitted use may require advice from the relevant rights holder or legal counsel. We do not guarantee a legal determination or resolution deadline.
6. Questions and removal requests
If you are uncertain, use your own notes or material with clear permission while checking the applicable license or school rule. Ask support to remove hosted material, extracted passages or saved aids where the app has no deletion control. Deletion and retained copies are described in the Privacy Policy. See also the Terms of Use.
